Starting off at number eight is participate in a brewery and distillery tour! Join a tour group as they take you to discover some of the best craft beer and spirits in Byron Bay, Australia. Go behind the scenes at some of the top breweries and distilleries Byron Bay has to offer. If you’re not a huge fan of beer, many tour companies will substitute beer for cider, wine or seltzer completely free of charge. If you’re not sure which tour to select, we’ve done our research for you we recommend the Full Barrel Brewery & Distillery Tour. Not only does it visit two breweries and two distilleries, but it also includes a guided tasting of beers and spirits, a full catered lunch, and pickup and drop off from their designated meeting points.




Coming in at number seven we recommend a visit to Crystal Castle and The Shambhala Gardens. If you’re a fan of meditating, crystal healing, or you can just appreciating stunning crystals, then this is the place for you. Home to the biggest and most beautiful crystals in the world, it’s not a surprise when we say, you need to check this place out! Stand between two of the tallest crystals in the world (trust us when we say… your Instagram will be thanking you for it), sit in an ancient amethyst cave, wander through the tranquil Shambhala Gardens and rainforest, and enjoy a lovely lunch and a range of homemade desserts.




Coming in at number six, we recommend taking a surf lesson. You can’t visit Byron Bay without getting on a surfboard, at least once. So, if you’ve never tried surfing, this is the place to do it.


5. Visit The Farm



Coming in at number five we recommend visiting The Farm. The Farm is such a big part of Byron Bay culture, as it’s so much more than just a farm. Yes, it’s an 80-acre working farm, but it also represents individual businesses whose main purpose is to grow, feed and educate. Get a guided tour of The Farm or walk around and explore the farm at your own pace. It’s a peaceful and calm place, that encapsulates just what Byron Bay is all about. If you’re heading to The Farm make sure to leave room for a meal, their onsite restaurant, Three Blue Ducks source most of their ingredients from The Farm, and the rest of their ingredients are organic, spray free, sustainably farmed items to create delicious and high quality meals!




Coming in at number four, we recommend taking a day or two to explore Byron Bay’s breathtaking waterfalls. There are a wide range of beautiful waterfalls to see in Byron Bay so of course we needed to include them in our list. There are guided tours which takes you to a selection of waterfalls, but if guided tours aren’t your thing head out on your own and explore our favourite falls: Nimbin Waterfall, Minyon Falls and Killen Falls. They all are beautiful scenic locations, and well worth the trip!




Coming in at number three we recommend participating in a Safari at The Byron Bay Wildlife Safari. If you’re an animal lover, The Byron Bay Wildlife Safari is a must do! Not only do you get to visit three different habitats to see Australian Wildlife in their natural environments, but you’re guaranteed to see koalas, kangaroos, wallabies and flying foxes! If that wasn’t reason enough to go on The Byron Bay Wildlife Safari, the tour includes a locally sourced picnic in the rainforest. How picturesque and beautiful is that?




Coming in at number two, we recommend going Whale Watching. Byron Bay is one of the best places in the world to watch the yearly migration of humpback whales. The best time to do this is between May to November. You’ll not only get to encounter humpback whales up close and personal, but you’ll also get a fabulous view of Byron Bay and it’s other sea creatures such as dolphins, turtles and more! There’s so many whale watching tours available, so to make it easier for you, we’ve done our research and selected our favorite.




Finally at number one, we recommend visiting The Cape Byron Lighthouse. It not only has amazing views of the coast and is a must see for anyone visiting Byron Bay, but it’s also home to a popular maritime museum. It’s such an important part of Byron Bay’s history.
